Audi’s third and most affordable EV will be the Q4 e-tron in Australia.
Q4 will join the Audi Q8 e-tron (formerly named the Audi e-tron) and gorgeous e-tron GT.
It will be available as both SUV and Sportback form and is set to join the lineup by the middle of next year.
The pair will be a key to the brand’s electrification strategy as they are parachuted into the rapidly growing compact SUV segment.
First unveiled at the beginning of 2019 in Europe, the two EVs bring into series production the Audi Q4 concept and Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron show cars.
They share a platform with the Q5 e-tron, Volkswagen ID.4 and Škoda Enyaq.
Sized similarly to the popular combustion Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback, Audi Australia has been eagerly expecting the arrival of these two electrified companions for some time.
Audi Q4 e-tron
For Audi owners, it says the Q4 e-tron will offer a new entry point into the world of premium electric mobility with Audi DNA at its core.
While exact specification and drivetrains are yet to be confirmed, it’s pleased to announce that both the SUV and the Sportback body styles will be available for the Q4 e-tron.
A sleek mover on the road, the Q4 e-tron impresses thanks to striking proportions – short front overhangs, large wheels, and powerfully toned muscles.
The lines are drawn with the greatest precision, and the surface treatment is clear and pared back.
In the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, the especially low coupe-style roofline ends in an expressively designed rear where the spoiler sits deep on the two-part window.
The brand’s progressive design is typically Audi, as functional as it is aerodynamic.
Both highly versatile in nature, the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Q4 Sportback e-tron are the perfect companions in a number of driving circumstances and will have high everyday usability for many Audi owners.
The rear-wheel drive Q4 40 e-tron with an 82kWh battery will have a range of up to 520km — other models less.
Pricing and specification for the Q4 e-tron will be announced closer to market introduction.
