Ford’s Bullitt Mustang is set to make its debut at the 2018 Motorclassica car show in Melbourne.
Motorclassica takes place over four days, from October 12-14, at the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Melbourne, with 550 vehicles spread across 30,000 square-metres of exhibition space.
This year, Motorclassica celebrates its ninth anniversary, with special guests including 1980 Formula One World Champion, Alan Jones, whose title-winner was the Ford-powered Williams FW07B — with Ford Performance exhibits celebrating global race programs.
The Bullitt Mustang will be the most powerful version of the best selling pony car offered here to date.
Just 700 examples will be offered for sale, all individually-numbered Fastbacks finished exclusively in Dark Highland Green with six-speed manual gearbox and gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Bullitt comes with a 345kW/556Nm 5.0-litre V8, and six-speed manual transmission with Rev-Matching.
True to the car that made its name in 1968 film of the same name, starring heart throb Steve McQueen — the body of the car remains devoid of badges.
Torq-Thrust style black 19-inch alloy wheels, Red Brembo brake calipers and chrome window trim enhance the modern good looks.
Inside, each example carries an individually-numbered plaque, cue-ball style gear-knob and Bullitt badging.
With four modes, the Active Valve Exhaust lets you move from subtle to sledgehammer, as well as individual Drive and Steering modes.
Mustang will make its on-track debut in the Supercar Championship with DJR Team Penske and Tickford Racing.
