Ram 1500 Warlock

Warlock ready to cast a spell

For some people the idea of an electric car is about as exciting as a trip to the dentist.

Point them at something like the Ram 1500 Warlock, however, and they’re likely to go weak at the knees.

Warlock, says Ram, is aimed squarely at those who not only want a full-size pick-up — but one with attitude.

Based on the new Crew Cab, Warlock is aggressively styled, with leather trim, RamBox Cargo Management System, and a factory fitted lift kit, that together we’re told make it the toughest “full-size” 4×4 pick-up in Australia.

“The new Warlock is the start of a product offensive that allows us to broaden our audience appeal and continue to grow the official Ram Trucks Australia brand down under,” Ram Australia boss Jeff Barber said.

Warlock is powered by a 5.7-litre petrol V8 Hemi that produces 291kW of power and 556Nm of torque.

With an 820kg payload and standard Trailer Brake Control system, it can tow an impressive 4.5 tonnes, enabling it to easily pull boats, trailers, or campers.

Headlining the exterior styling is a Rebel-look front grille with unique sports bonnet, black powder-coated front and rear bumpers and fender flares, 20-inch semi-gloss black alloys, black-smoked headlights, with accent badging and unique Warlock decals.

Launch colours include Flame Red (as pictured), Bright White, and Patriot Blue — with more colours to come.

A 25mm suspension lift boosts ground clearance and provides greater wheel articulation.

Warlock comes standard with the RamBox Cargo Management System.

More than a toolbox, these lockable storage units are built into the side rails of the tub and feature lighting and drainage.

Inside there’s leather trim, dual-zone climate control, along with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity via the UCONNECT 8.4-inch touchscreen.

The RAM 1500 Warlock is priced from $104,450 plus dealer delivery and on-road costs.

Converted to right hand drive in Australia, it’s backed by a three year/100,000km warranty with Roadside Assistance, service intervals of 12 months or 12,000km — and more than 55 RAM Trucks dealers in Australia.
