MG has finally revealed the price of its newest addition, the MG4 EV five-door hatchback.
It joins the small MG ZS EV SUV and will be available initially in high grade Essence form, priced from $47,990 plus on-roads.
The 150kW rear-drive hatch has a claimed range of 435km.
With a 64kWh battery, it can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in 60 minutes using a commercial 50kW DC rapid charger.
A dual-motor, all-wheel drive model with 330kW of power is expected to follow, with a claimed 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
MG4 is the first model to sit on MG’s new, innovative Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) which will underpin the next generation of all-electric MGs.
MG says the line-up offers exceptional storage, interior and boot space within its compact exterior dimensions, thanks to a stretched 2705mm wheelbase.
Rear boot capacity is also enhanced by its ‘One-Pack’ battery technology which measures just 110mm in thickness.
MG4 features the MG Pilot advanced driver assistance system, automatic LED head and rear lights, rear parking sensors, 18-inch alloys, adaptive cruise control, automatic climate control and MG iSmart app connectivity.
It also comes with a two-tone roof, twin aero rear spoiler, 360-degree camera and wireless phone charging.
The car earned a five-star rating in European crash tests and is equipped with Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
The MG4 64kWh Essence can be ordered now through MG’s extensive national dealer network.
