The 3500HD LTZ sits at the top of HSV’s impressive, five-model Silverado range, marking its first foray into the growing heavy-duty truck market.
It shares the same 6.6-litre turbo diesel V8 as the smaller 2500HD, with 332kW of power and a staggering 1234Nm of torque, that is paired with a 6-speed Allison auto.
The big difference lies in its tow and load carrying capabilities.
The 3500HD LTZ can tote 2.2 tonnes while its tow capability is truly something special — an enormous 9 tonnes.
With a 136-litre tank, you might want to consider how much fuel this beast is going to consume — HSV is keeping that figure to itself.

The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LTZ is re-manufactured to right-hand-drive specification at HSV’s new production facility at Clayton South in Victoria.
GM knows how to look after the good old boys who drive these rigs, with plenty of creature comforts to justify the price tag.
Perforated leather-appointed bucket seats are heated and cooled, with 10-way power adjustment, two-way power lumbar control and two-position driver memory.
A heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel is both height and reach adjustable, while power-adjustable pedals allow the driver to find the most comfortable driving position.
There’s 7-speaker Bose audio to keep you company on the road, with the American version of Holden’s MyLink infotainment system that includes an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen that allows you to easily navigate radio content, multimedia devices and phone connectivity.
Although it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, there’s no mention of satellite navigation.
Front, side and curtain airbags provide occupant protection with proactive safety features including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Front ‘ Rear Park Assist and Rear-view Camera.
The stability control system also features Proactive Roll Avoidance and Traction Control with Electronic Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist.
The 3500HD LTZ rides on 17-inch chrome alloys with dual rear wheels, and pretty much chrome everything — grille surround, bumpers, body side mouldings, door handles and exterior mirrors.
