Chery Australia has confirmed price and specifications for its first all-electric model, the Omoda E5.
Omoda E5 is powered by a single electric motor that produces 150kW power and 340Nm of torque.
With a driving range of up to 430km (WLTP), E5 will be offered in two grades — BX starts from $42,990, while the EX is priced from $45,990.
A black roof adds $600, while premium paint is another $500.
Both versions feature a single electric motor, producing 150kW and 340Nm, with power to the front wheels.
E5 accelerates from 0-100km in 7.6 seconds, with power consumption of 15.5 kWh/100km.
It can be charged from 30-80 per cent in under 30 minutes via a fast DC charger.
Building on the design of the petrol-powered Omoda 5, the E5 features a pronounced grille, which houses the CCS2 charging port, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, twin rear spoilers (roof and bootlid), LED head and tail lights, plus DRLs.
Other features include dual 12.3-inch screens for instruments and infotainment, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offline navigation, a premium Sony sound system with up to eight speakers, and the availability of multi-colour ambient lighting along with a powered operated sunroof.
Voice commands can be used to control features such as changing radio stations, opening windows and setting the climate control.
E5 also has a comprehensive list of active and passive safety features, including seven airbags, adaptive cruise control (ACC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane keeping assistance (LKA) to mention a few.
Unusually, it also comes with a full-size spare wheel.
E5 is covered by Chery’s comprehensive 7-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, 7-year capped price servicing and up to 7 years of roadside assistance.
Battery warranty is eight years.
Colours include Titan Green (base colour), Lunar White, Saturn Silver, Space Black and Martian Red.
There’s also the option of a black roof on EX model Titan Green and Lunar White models.
