Mahindra spent six months and 80,000 testing local kilometres getting the new Pik-Up just right for Australia.
The new budget line of utes from India features a refreshed look, more powerful diesel, new six-speed transmission and stylish new interior.
An updated 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel features a variable geometry turbocharger, with 103kW of power and 330Nm of torque from a low 1600 revs, delivering excellent acceleration and towing power.
The turbodiesel is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox that drives the rear wheels, with selectable low range four-wheel drive.
The entire range also scores an Eaton Mechanical Locking Differential as standard.
Safety features include two airbags, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, ABS, EBD and Roll-over mitigation.
There’s also headrests and three-point lap sash seat belts for all seats along with two ISOFIX anchors in the rear seat with three top tether points for all Double Cab models.
Pik-Up comes in two spec levels, S6 and the S10, with four variants and four colours are currently available:
- The Single Cab Pik-Up is available in 4×4 S6 Cab Chassis from $26,990 Drive Away.
- The Dual Cab Pik-Up is available in 4×4 S6 Cab Chassis from $29,490 Drive Away.
- The Dual Cab Pik-Up is available in 4×4 S6 with factory well-side tub from $29,990 Drive Away.
- The Dual Cab Pik-Up S10 4×4 with factory well-side tub from $31,990 Drive Away
From early 2018 the 4×2 Single Cab variant will become available:
- The Single Cab Pik-Up available in 4×2 S6 Cab Chassis from $21,990 Drive Away
The pricing includes a 5-year, 100,000km limited warranty with 5-year roadside assistance.
- Four colours are: Artic White, De-Sat Silver, Napoli Black and Red Rage
