Holistic Lexus puts to sea

Riley Riley

Six years after launch Lexus has updated its luxury, sea-going super yacht.

Lexus has taken impeccable Takumi craftsmanship, refined luxury and confidence-inspiring performance to the high seas with the opulent LY 680 Lexus Luxury Yacht, featuring enhancements to make the maritime experience even more personal.

Expanding on the pioneering LY 650 Luxury Yacht revealed in 2018, the LY 680 strengthens Lexus’ holistic approach as a luxury lifestyle brand.

By collaborating with artisans Lexus has been able to present a vessel that embodies the quality, elite design and craftsmanship expected of Lexus vehicles.

The LY 680 Luxury Yacht has been thoughtfully and meticulously crafted to feel like a hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease.

The sleek design of the LY 680 is based on the Lexus L-finesse design language which balances timeless elegance with cutting-edge design, while referencing the Japanese spirit of omotenashi hospitality and placing the customer at the centre of the experience by anticipating their needs.

Production of the LY 680 is carried out by superyacht builder Horizon Group, who have combined their reputation for advanced technological capability with building processes based on the Toyota Production System to create a visually stunning craft replete with Takumi craftsmanship and exceptional build quality.

Significant upgrades over the LY 650 include the flybridge extending by 1400mm and featuring a spacious lounge sofa and optional barbeque grill, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for occupants to relax, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze and eye-catching design of the LY 680.

The swimming platform is also extended by 700mm, allowing guests to enjoy a wide range of offshore activities including personal watercraft.

The LY 680 delivers confidence-inspiring cruising performance and stable manoeuvrability with twin Volvo Penta IPS engines, along with excellent ride comfort and quietness that Lexus luxury car customers have come to expect.

First deliveries of the LY 680 are scheduled for 2026 in Japan only, with sales in additional overseas markets to be considered in the future based on customer demand.
