Lexus has unveiled an all-new RC F Track Edition as part of an extensive update for its flagship performance coupe.

The four second, V8-powered coupe offers a range of upgrades designed for hard-core enthusiasts, blending luxury with serious track-focused performance.

The 5.0-litre naturally aspirated engine, which produces 351kW of power and 530Nm of torque, has revised intake routing and a lower rpm trigger point for the secondary intake opening — 2800rpm versus 3600rpm.

Using the built-in launch control it is capable of dispatching the dash from 0 to 100km/h in a shade over 4.0 seconds.

Standout features include a carbon fibre roof and bonnet, titanium muffler and tailpipes, Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors, and substantial weight reduction and styling enhancements that improve aerodynamics and increase downforce.

Lexus says this new variant is the latest milestone for its F performance brand that will continue to evolve as an important pillar of its overall strategy.

The Track Edition makes its debut at the Detroit motor show alongside the standard Lexus RC F performance coupe which has also been extensively updated.

Sleeker aerodynamics, reduced weight, retuned suspension and enhanced styling elevate the RC F to a new level of performance and refinement.

Lexus International executive vice president Koji Sato said the new RC F and the Track Edition, in particular, have benefited from constant development.

“These models help further distinguish the F brand by offering fast, durable, highly capable performance cars that rely on a range of technologies to help make their performance accessible to drivers of all skill levels,” Sato-san said.
