We reckon Renault would sell a few more cars in Australia if they looked like this wild 160kW Renault 5 EV.

It would be a good way to bump up EV sales as well and in that respect it would help if they sold the Renault 5/Alpine A290 here too.

The kit, by Milltek Design, brings back fond memories of the outrageous Enduro kit they used to put on the Saab 900 Turbo.

The all-new Group-B inspired Wide Body Kit for the Renault 5 and Alpine A290 is the work of the premium styling, fabrication and bodywork division of Milltek Sport.

Channelling the vibes and design cues of the original Renault 5 Maxi, the Group B legend that won the 1985 Monte Carlo rally outright, the new Milltek kit has been designed to dramatically enhance the presence and stance of both the new Renault 5 and its performance-focused sibling, the Alpine A290.

The comprehensive kit transforms the compact EV’s proportions while maintaining full compatibility with both models.

The prototype kit was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Production is scheduled for Autumn 2026, with customers invited to place orders at the show for the first strictly limited-edition run of kits.

The wide body kit and spoiler are fully compatible with both the Renault 5 and Alpine A290.

Both use original equipment (OE) fitting points and fasteners wherever possible for a quick and simple installation to factory standards.

Additional bodywork elements employ localised removable bonding, ensuring the entire ABS panel system can be removed without any irreversible modifications to the vehicle.

The kit has been carefully engineered to give the narrower Renault 5 and wider Alpine A290 a more aggressive stance with rally-inspired lines, delivering a cohesive, ‘OEM+’ aesthetic with significantly enhanced visual impact.
