Updates for time-warp ASX

Riley Riley

It’s been 13 years since Mitsubishi launched the compact ASX SUV.

It’s been the subject of more updates than just about any other vehicle on the market.

And yet, it continues to survive. In fact, it’s become one of the mainstays of Mitsubishi’s inventory and is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Mitsubishi’s Shaun Westcott says demand for ASX continues to be strong and dealers consistently sell their entire planned monthly allocations, which further demonstrates its enduring popularity.

“Customers love it for its design, interior spaciousness, legendary reliability and class leading aftersales support, including the available 10/10 Diamond Advantage warranty and servicing program,” he said.

Several changes have been introduced as part of a 2024 model year update for the range, including the new ES Street Pack, bringing a unique aesthetic to the ASX range.

The Street accessory pack is available in combination with three exterior colours, including Black, Sterling Silver and White Diamond.

Designed for the Australian market, the pack features the following additional features:

  • Large front spoiler in black
  • Front and rear skid plates in black with red highlights
  • Tailgate protector in black
  • Exterior door handle covers in black
  • Door scuff plates, front and rear, in stainless steel
  • Gear shifter trimmed in aluminium and leather
  • Side decal package
  • ‘Street’ tailgate decal

ES is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 110kW of power and 197Nm of torque, paired with a CVT-style aurto.

Fuel consumption is a claimed 7.6L/100km for the CVT.

The cabin features an 8.0-inch touchscreen with four-speaker audio, including wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with dual USB ports, DAB+ and Bluetooth audio capability with voice control to ensure constant connectivity.

Standard equipment includes black cloth interior upholstery and lane departure warning is now standard.

It issues an audible alert and shows a warning on the multi-function display if the vehicle drifts from its lane while the turn signals are not operating.

In addition ES features black 18-inch alloys, rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing headlights, automatic high beam, front LED fog lights, reverse parking sensors, full-automatic air conditioning with second row vents under front seats, .

ASX ES with the ES Street pack is priced from $30,490 plus on-roads.
