Troubled Jeep has introduced driveaway pricing for its Gladiator utility.
But it’s quick to point out the driveway prices are for a limited period only, no doubt to give sales a boost.
It brings the cost of the two models offered to $64,000 driveway for entry Night Eagle and $70,000 for the top of the range Rubicon.
The decision could have something to do with sagging sales of Gladiator, which are down almost 64 per cent year to date.
In fact, the whole Jeep range seems to have fallen in a giant hole and that includes Avenger, Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and the hard-core Wrangler 4×4.
Sales across the range are down from 2669 to 1282 units in 2024 — a drop of 52 per cent.
No comment has been offered by Jeep and no time frame for the driveway pricing has been specified.
However, if things don’t pick up mother ship Stellantis could well pull the plug on the whole shebang — they’ve done it in the past.
Remember, you can’t buy a Chrysler here anymore.

Not all are sold here and some such as are distributed Peugeot-Citroen are imported privately.
Standard equipment across the Jeep Gladiator range includes Uconnect 8.4-inch navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There’s also a black, three-piece freedom hard top, automatic LED headlights, forward collision warning plus, adaptive cruise control, nine-speaker Alpine premium audio, Parkview rear backup camera, ParkSense front and rear sensors, remote proximity keyless entry and start.
