The Thruxton for distinguished gentlemen

Triumph has created one-of-a-kind Thruxton 1200 RS to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR).

Reflecting the passion and commitment of DGR riders fundraising worldwide, this unique motorcycle will be first prize for the 2021 ride as a reward for the fundraiser who unlocks all their badges enabling them to enter the competition.

The ride unites classic and vintage style motorcycle riders all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

It was founded in Sydney, Australia, by Mark Hawwa, inspired by a photo of TV Show Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit.

Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting niche motorcycle enthusiasts and communities while raising funds to support the men in our lives.

The “Gentlefolk Competition” is designed to give DGR supporters the chance to win some of the amazing prizes offered.

To qualify for entry and have a chance to win the unique Thruxton RS, fundraisers need to follow these four simple steps to unlock their badges:

  • Complete their Profile
  • Donate to their own Profile
  • Complete a Random Donation
  • Raise a minimum of US $250

All entrants will receive the 2021 DGR Commemorative Prize Patch and a single entry in the competition to win the DGR Thruxton RS.

Prize winners will be drawn by the DGR after fundraising closes on June 6.

This stunning 10th Year Anniversary Thruxton RS was designed, painted, and customised in Triumph’s UK paintshop.

It’s a state-of-the art facility within the factory in Hinckley, where highly trained professionals ensure the highest quality possible for motorcycle schemes, as well as creating unique hand-crafted custom paintwork.

First established in 1902, Triumph Motorcycles celebrated 118 years of motorcycle manufacture in 2020.

For more than three decades, the company has been based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, where it has produced iconic bikes that blend authentic design, character, charisma and performance.

Building around 65,000 bikes per year, Triumph is the largest British motorcycle manufacturer and has around 650 dealers across the world.

Triumph’s partnership of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride represents one of its most important and longest lasting collaborations.

This unique Thruxton RS showcases Triumph’s commitment and shared passion for the DGR, and the men’s health charities it was setup to support.

Founder and director of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, Mark Hawwa, said 10 years of riding dapper for men’s health is nothing short of incredible and celebrating that with this one-of-one motorcycle designed in collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles is such an exciting way to honour that.

“This DGR Triumph Thruxton RS will be the key prize of our Gentlefolk Competition; giving every single fundraiser that unlocks their badges in DGR 2021 the chance to win. It’s a piece of DGR memorabilia that brilliantly represents the committed efforts of our dedicated gentlefolk around the world, and the shared passion of our partners, Triumph Motorcycles,” he said.
