T-Roc gets the Wolfsburg treatment

VOLKSWAGEN is launching the T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition, focused on delivering an exclusive exterior look and unmistakeably emotional sound, with a recommended retail price of $69,290 (plus on road costs).

The T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition takes what Australian customers embrace about Volkswagen’s most affordable ‘R’ model and dials up the visuals and soundtrack, culminating in a vehicle worthy of the ‘Wolfsburg’ badge – denoting Volkswagen’s hometown and development centre in Germany.

Additions to T-Roc R’s equipment list include a matte paint finish in Indium Grey, Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, 19-inch Pretoria Dark Graphite alloy wheels, black roof rails, black mirror caps and hockey stick, black lower radiator trim, carbon-look C-pillars, gloss-black décor and frame for vents, and black display control panel.

Volkswagen’s Nathan Johnson said the T-Roc R continues Australia’s penchant for performance vehicles and the Wolfsburg Edition caters even further to the performance SUV enthusiast.

“Australia is a very significant market globally for T-Roc R and now the Wolfsburg Edition gives Australian customers the opportunity to own the definitive version of the ultimate T-Roc,” he said.

“Performance has always been a strength of T-Roc R and the unique matte paint and Akrapovič titanium exhaust system further elevate it to where it now looks and sounds its absolute best.”

T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition will be available in a limited production run of 200 units, with no plans for an extended run once all vehicles are sold out – making for a very exclusive special edition.

Standard equipment includes Adaptive Chassis Control, 4MOTION Active Control, Progressive Steering, ‘R’ exterior and interior styling, IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlights, Dynamic Light Assist, power tailgate, heated sport front seats, Nappa leather-appointed upholstery with blue decorative stitching, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, sport leather multi-function steering wheel, gearshift paddles, Discover Pro 9.2-inch infotainment system and Digital Cockpit Pro.

Acclaimed for its secure and unobtrusive driver assistance technology, T-Roc R also features Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE which includes Travel Assist combining Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Assist and Side Assist, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitoring, Park Assist and Rear View Camera.

T-Roc R delivers 221kW of power at 5300-6600 rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2000-5300 rpm.

Coupled with a seven-speed DSG transmission, 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology and Adaptive Chassis Control, T-Roc R’s acceleration is delivered with exquisite precision and control.

Zero to 100km/h is dispatched in 4.9 seconds, reinforcing Volkswagen’s unparalleled performance credentials in the compact SUV segment.
