The all-new 2020 GR Toyota Supra is set to make its first public appearance in Chicago in a few days.
More than 20 years in the making, the GR Supra is the first global Toyota GAZOO Racing model with design inspired by Calty’s FT-1 Concept.
The Supra which made its world debut in Detroit last month goes on sale this summer in the United States, with the first 1500 vehicles earmarked as Launch Edition models.
Toyota says the car will feature an exhilarating blend of power, precision and agility, thanks its rear wheel design, low centre of gravity and optimal weight balance.
It will be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged six that produces 250kW of power and 495Nm of torque, and will be teamed with a quick-shifting 8-speed auto with paddle shifters.
Many people believe the launch of the Toyota Supra heralds the imminent demise of the Toyota 86.
The Chicago Auto Show takes place February 9-18.
