Polestar has added an SUV version of its best-selling Polestar 4 to the range.
It pairs the design and performance of the Polestar 4 coupé with more cargo capacity and greater everyday usability.
The rear has been redesigned with a straighter roofline and more upright tailgate.
Full-length roof rails increase dynamic roof load capacity to 100kg.
Polestar says only 48 new parts were designed specifically to create the SUV, a testament to the adaptability of the original design.
The interior follows the same design philosophy as the Polestar 4 coupé, carrying over its minimalist and technology-focused character.
At the centre of the infotainment system a more familiar landscape-oriented centre and driver display.
An increased nine screen shortcuts, together with a broader selection of available functions makes the system easier to use on the fly.
Google Gemini enhances the in-car experience with more natural, helpful voice interactions.
A 12-speaker 1400 watt Harman Kardon Premium Sound system is available as an option which has been specifically tuned for the Polestar 4 SUV.
Unlike the coupe the SUV has a rear window and is equipped with a conventional rear-view mirror as standard.
The more upright design of the SUV’s rear end offers an extra 2.5cm of headroom, with a new and larger panoramic glass roof.
The SUV offers 530 litres of luggage capacity with the rear seats in use, expanding to 1680 litres with the seats folded.
Polestar 4 SUV is offered with a choice of two powertrains.
- The Dual motor all-wheel drive version delivers 400kW and 686Nm of torque, enabling 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds and up to 600km of range (WLTP)
- The Rear motor variant combines 200kW and 343Nm of torque with up to 630km of range, while accelerating from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds
A large 100kWh battery comes standard across the range, supporting DC charging of up to 200kW and AC charging of up to 22kW in selected markets.
The drivetrain options are visually distinguished in the interior by the colouring of the seatbelts and the rotary control knob.
While the Rear motor features an all-black theme, the Dual motor variant has an added golden stripe on the seatbelt and the rotary knob.
The Performance pack cars are visually the most striking with signature full Swedish gold seatbelts and rotary knob.
Prices start from $73,900 for Rear motor variants and at $81,750 for Dual motor variants.
Polestar 4 SUV with Performance pack is available from $95,450.
