Palisade takes one for the team

Hyundai has introduced a cut-price version of its big Palisade SUV making it more accessible to a broader range of buyers.

Palisade Elite is priced from $76,500, or $13,500 less than the sole existing variant — Calligraphy.

Hyundai’s Gavin Donaldson describes the Elite as the perfect complement to the Calligraphy flagship.

“With a next-generation dual-motor Hybrid powertrain, locally tuned steering and suspension, and an array of EV-like features, Palisade Elite is the ideal family vehicle,” he said.

The new arrival features unique exterior styling and interior design, with space for eight occupants across three rows.

A different front grille and new five-spoke 20-inch alloys set the Elite apart, with robust black and silver lower bumpers and side skirts and black wheel arches.

Black tailgate detailing within the number plate recess completes a rugged yet stylish look.

Power comes from the same 2.5-litre turbocharged hybrid setup, with 245kW of power and 460Nm of torque, and claimed fuel consumption of 6.8L/100km.

Drive is to all four wheels on demand through a six-speed automatic transmission.

Like Calligraphy variants, Elite benefits from locally developed Australian passive damper and steering tunes, to deliver optimal stability, refinement and handling.

Black leather upholstery combined with premium cloth trims cosset occupants in an inviting and comfortable cabin.

Palisade Elite shares its twin, 12.3-inch Digital Cluster and multimedia displays with Calligraphy and also features a superb 14-speaker Bose audio system.

Elite is offered in a choice of six exterior colours: Creamy White, Shimmering Silver, Ecotronic Grey, Galaxy Maroon, Classy Blue and Abyss Black.
