New look Hyundai makes dramatic touchdown

Kia-Hyundai design guru Peter Schreyer was replaced last year by Luc Donckerwolke as chief designer.

Donckerwolke, who has a string of Lamborghinis to his name, is the bloke who designed the visually-confronting Kona for Hyundai.

You know the one from the funky carwash video with all the lights and all that grey plastic cladding.

He’s also responsible for the soon to be released Hyundai Venue that’s also styled very differently from what we’ve come to expect.

But, don’t let us influence your opinion, have a look for yourself.

Hyundai has released a video to promote its new pint-sized SUV as well as another short clip showing how the first was made.

With “urban vibes” designed to win the hearts and minds of millennials and young consumers, the video highlights Venue’s youthful, attractive appeal and urbane identity.

The dramatically shot video shows a Venue being flown inside a C-130 transport, before it’s unloaded in dramatic fashion on a tarmac at California’s Inyokern Airport — where it’s greeted by other Hyundai SUVs.

“As an entry SUV with a youthful spirit targeting the millennials, the Venue’s blockbuster advert tries to break stereotypes about car advertisement,” Hyundai’s Wonhong Cho said.

“We hope we can all enjoy Venue’s successful arrival through this unique advertising scheme.”

Having debuted at the New York motor show in April, the all-new 2020 Venue will be introduced in global markets in the second half of this year.
