Haval’s small SUV Jolion is in runout as dealers make way for a new, cheaper model.
The “all-new” Jolion is priced from $26,990 driveaway, or $32,990 driveaway for the hybrid.
Since launch three years ago, Jolion has become the biggest selling model in GWM’s Haval range of SUVs, with 29,417sales to date.
Petrol versions get a new grille, new front and rear numbers, and black accents to give it a refreshed look.
The Hybrid on the other hand has been given a total makeover, effectively creating two different models.
New Jolion is also the first Haval to feature prominent GWM “Masterbrand” badging on the tailgate.
Inside driver ergonomics have been improved with the introduction of a four-way adjustable steering wheel.
The petrol line up has been streamlined to two, front-drive grades — Premium and Luxury — available with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with seven-speed twin clutch DCT transmission, that produces 105kW of power and 210Nm of torque, with fuel consumption of 8.1L/100km.
Jolion Hybrid receives a more significant update, with the same platform and hybrid powertrain, but with a new sportier body shape.
The hybrid also scores a new multi-link rear suspension setup that delivers better ride and handling.
The existing 1.5L petrol hybrid engine DHT carries over to the new models with 140kW of power and 375Nm of torque in the hybrid variant, with fuel consumption a low 5.1L/100km on the combined test cycle.
Confusingly, the rear of the vehicle carries Jolion Pro badging, consistent with global naming.
But for simplicity of communication and to continue reinforcement of the Jolion nomenclature, this model will be marketed and sold as GWM Jolion Hybrid in the ANZ region.
