New Impreza in time for Chrissy

Subaru Australia has announced details of the latest, sixth generation Impreza hatchback.

Three variants are available: 2.0L, 2.0R and 2.0S priced at $31,490, $34,990 and $37,990 respectively.

All-new Impreza boasts a proven direct injection 2.0-litre Boxer engine, with an eight-speed Lineartronic transmission and paddle shift manual mode.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is standard for all models.

It’s mounted to a refined Subaru Global Platform which delivers a further 10 per cent increase in torsional rigidity which bolsters cabin strength and delivers a quieter, more comfortable ride.

MY24 Impreza retains the SI-Drive system that enhances the vehicle’s driving performance by refining throttle and acceleration response.

It offers two distinct modes: Intelligent (I) mode and Sport (S) mode.

Inside the all-new Impreza, the redesigned cabin comes with a number of updated entertainment features and added conveniences.

The 11.6-inch portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen allows for intuitive control of various multimedia functions.

There’s are also wireless Qi smartphone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and USB-A and USB-C ports both in the front console and in rear.

Styling of the MY24 Impreza brings a more angular shape than the outgoing model for a more aggressive look.

The LED headlights are narrower and wrap around to the side and are dusk-sensing.

In the 2.0R and 2.0S variants they are steering responsive for improved visibility when cornering as well as high-beam assist.

The rear combination lights are LED and have a distinctive C-shaped three-dimensional signature with a three-dimensional aspect.

Newly designed 17-inch alloys are fitted to Impreza 2.0L, whilst 2.0R and 2.0S feature 18-inch wheels also with a refreshed design.

There are now seven exterior colour options with Oasis Blue being added to the previous choices: Crystal Pearl White, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Grey Metallic, Crystal Black Silica and Sapphire Blue Pearl.

In a nice touch all come standard rather than being cost options.

All variants feature a smart key and push-start ignition and power-folding door mirrors.

The interior has been completely redesigned with a range of new hi-tech features, soft touch materials and premium seating textiles available in each variant.

Impreza 2.0R and 2.0S feature a panoramic 360-degree view monitor to help improve visibility around the vehicle and prevention of accidents.

A 3D birds-eye view is made available on the 11.6-inch touchscreen, combining images from all four cameras mounted around the vehicle.

The 2.0L and 2.0R variants come with six-speaker audio system featuring 160mm full range speakers in both the front and rear doors, as well as tweeters in the front instrument panel, exhibiting flat-frequency characteristics.

The 2.0S steps up to a premium Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system, a first for any Subaru Impreza model.

A new design approach based on the structure of the human body has been adopted.

By adopting a human-centred design approach, almost every aspect of the interior has been crafted to elevate driver and passenger ergonomics and ensure maximum comfort.

An upgraded seating mounting arrangement has been introduced between the chassis and the seat to minimise seat movement and enhance the overall smoothness of the ride.

MY24 Impreza comes with nine airbags, compared to the previous generation’s seven and now includes a far side airbag which focuses on protecting occupants on the non-collision side.

The latest generation Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist System adds an updated stereo camera system with significantly improved image recognition, as well as the ability to recognise pedestrians and bicycles when the vehicle is entering an intersection at low speed.

New to the range, all variants are equipped with Subaru’s leading-edge Driver Monitoring System which carefully watches over the driver’s seat for signs of drowsiness, lack of attention on the road or fatigue is detected.

If any of these signs are identified, a warning is displayed on the Multi-Information Display (MID) and infotainment screen.

All Imprezas feature Subaru’s Vision Assist.

When combined with progressive features of EyeSight this enables full perimeter preventative safety features.

Due to go on sale from December 2023, orders can now be placed either on-line at Subaru.com.au or through any Subaru dealership.
