MG’s lineup continues to expand with the addition of the MGS6 EV.
The range launches with two variants, MGS6 EV Essence RWD starting from $49,990 and MGS6 EV Essence AWD from $56,990 — both prices driveaway.
Built on MG Motor’s advanced electric vehicle platform, the AWD with two electric motors produces 266kW of combined power while the RWD offers 180kW for a composed drive.
Acceleration is confident across both variants, with AWD reaching 10km/h in 5.1 seconds and the RWD in 7.3 seconds.
AWD has a claimed range of 485km and RWD, 530km (WLTP).
Charging from 10–80 per cent takes 38 minutes at up to 144kW with a 150kW DC charger.
Both variants also feature MG’s highly efficient heat pump, one-pedal mode and adjustable regenerative braking.
Measuring 4708mm long, 1912m wide and 1664mm high, MGS6 has a strong road presence.
Suspension is Mac strut at the front with a multi-link rear setup, and 20‑inch alloy wheels with low‑wind‑resistance wheel covers.
Premium materials, soft‑touch surfaces and smart interior packaging create an environment focused on comfort and wellbeing.
Features such as the 11‑speaker audio system, heated and cooled vegan‑leather seats with suede upholstery, heated outer rear seats and ambient lighting — all contribute to a quiet sense of refinement.
Practicality has been carefully considered too.
The cabin provides a generous 581‑litre boot, complemented by an 86‑litre froot in the RWD and 67‑litre froot in the AWD.
With the rear seats folded, total storage expands to 1690 litres.
The cabin features a dual-screen layout combining a 12.8-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital driver display, delivering streamlined access to navigation, entertainment and vehicle functions.
Additional highlights include the option of head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 50W wireless phone charging, voice control functionality and integrated connected applications, services and iSmart companion app.
