Jannarelly’s gorgeous Design-1 has just gone on sale in the UK.
The lightweight Design-1 features a naturally aspirated Nissan 242kW 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Weighing in at just 810kg, the mid-rear engined, rear-wheel drive two-seat roadster features a beautifully engineered tubular spaceframe chassis with composite or carbon composite bodywork, results in outstanding driving dynamics, agility and poise.
It delivers supercar performance, with a top speed of 220km/h and can dispatch the dash to 100km/h in an estimated 3.9 seconds.
Jannarelly Automotive was founded in 2016 by automotive and product designer, Anthony Jannarelly, and racing boat builder, Frederic Juillot.
Anthony Jannarelly is a car designer who styles the supercars for W Motors, the Lykan and the Fenyr Supersport.
He also designed the upgraded off-road Zarooq Sand Racer, for which he joined forces with Frederic Juillot, car lover, custom boat manufacturer and expert in composite materials.
They partnered under the entity JJSpecial to create the new brand Jannarelly focused on automotive emotions.
Passionate owners of a Caterham and a Donkervoort, they show an admiration for simple cars with a strong personality and for the 60s-era motoring ingenuity and lifestyle.
The Jannarelly Design-1 was originally designed by Anthony Jannarelly as a one-off car for himself.
It’s a ‘retro-futuristic’ tribute to sports cars of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.
At a time when cars have become larger, heavier and more complicated, the Jannarelly Design-1 is a back-to-basics sports car, providing a decidedly analogue, unfiltered driving experience.
Design 1 is offered in the UK in three body styles – Roadster, Coupe, and Aero – and provides a level of customisation that allows owners to build a specification entirely unique to them.
Jannarelly said the Design-1 had seen unprecedented interest from both the United Arab Emirates and mainland Europe.
“We are working tirelessly to expand our representation into multiple markets and since we launched the car we have known that the UK has one of the world’s most engaged and enthusiastic markets for our car,” he said.
“We are therefore delighted to have a demonstrator available in London so we can show potential customers the Design-1 and everything it has to offer.”
The Jannarelly Design-1 is priced from £86,000 (about $163,000 Aussie dollars).
