It’s the mother of all Holden auctions

What would you pay for a Brock VK SS Group A Commodore with just 2336km on its odo?

Or a virtually ‘new’ Monaro with 320 miles on the clock?

Or a Walkinshaw VL SS Group A that’s covered a scant 1271km?

Or do you want a Model T Ford, a Torana, Gemini, perhaps some enamel signage or manuals or parts for your FX 48-215?

They’re all going under the hammer this month at the mother of all mainly Holden-related auctions at thee locations — Echuca, Moama and Deniliquin.

It’s the sale of the D’Alberto Brothers private collection and apart from the vehicles, includes all the bits and pieces such as workshop equipment, car and truck manuals, parts and spares across three Holden dealerships.

It starts at Deniliquin on Thursday, April 12, and moves to Echuca/Moama on Friday the 13th, which, despite its ominous history, could be a great day for serious buyers.

The auction, held by Burns & Co starts at 9.00am each day with the feature vehicles being sold from 1.00pm Sunday.

There are about 2000 lots – all unreserved.

The cars are a part of one of the country’s most prized private Holden collections and include Monaro, Torana, Corvette, 4 x Group A SS Holden Commodores, FX 48-215, EK, FC, EH, HR, HD, HQ and Gemini.

There are also Model T Fords, Buick, and others totalling around 50 motor vehicles and for folk who know what the Charlie McCarron, Canowindra Motors 46th built Holden 48:215 is . . . well it’s also there for the bidding.
