Going fast — all five Blackbirds

IF you want something really potent – and really different – you might want to put your hand up for a new Rezvani Beast Alpha X Blackbird.

And you need to be quick, because Blackbird production has been limited to five cars.

That’s right, not 500, or 50 — just 5.

The Orange County supercar company, founded in 2014, says the 525kW Beast Blackbird got its name from the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird jet fighter.

Paired to a quick-shifting sequential automatic gearbox, it’s the quickest, most powerful car Rezvani Motors has ever built.

Thanks to best-in-class performance, and kerb weight of 950kg, the Beast Alpha X is able to sprint to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds.

Power is delivered via a turbocharged 2.5-litre Cosworth motor and the first to get Rezvani’s six-speed sequential gearbox.

The body is of a hand-crafted, high-grade carbon composite and the design is by Samir Sadikhov.

With the performance-oriented X package equipped, the Beast Alpha comes with a few defining design elements to note, including distinctive lime green detailing on the front fenders and side profile, and a leather and Alcantara finished sport steering wheel.

Other design features include custom, deep dish 18-inch forged alloy wheels, AP Racing brakes, carbon fibre door panels and carbon fibre detailing.

Cost? $225,000 – or about $280,000 in Oz money.
