Better late than never perhaps but Suzuki has added another hybrid to the lineup — the Fronx Hybrid.
Suzuki says the “bold new contender” blends style, smarts, and next-generation hybrid technology into one versatile package.
Its name, derived from “Frontier Crossover,” signifies more than a new model, it marks the beginning of an exciting new era in Suzuki’s SUV story.
Based on the same platform as the Swift, Fronx is the first all-new Suzuki nameplate introduced to Australia in over a decade.
Previewed in January, 2023 it’s been a long time coming and breakers the traditional conservative Suzuki mould with its coupe-like lines.
Designed and built in India by the Maruti division and will slot between Ignis and Vitara.
Fronx will be offered with a 1.5-litre mild hybrid that produces 76kW of power and 137Nm of torque, with an integrated starter generator allowing the electric motor to start the engine and assist it during acceleration.
With a six-speed automatic, fuel consumption is a claimed 4.9L/100km.
Fronx sees the debut of Heads-Up Display, projecting speed, gear position, turn-by-turn navigation and safety alerts onto a transparent panel — the cheaper kind.
This innovative feature enhances driver focus and convenience, marking a significant step forward for in-cabin technology that Suzuki now offers in Australia.
Inside, the Fronx Hybrid sports a black and Bordeaux interior theme, soft-touch surfaces, and ergonomic design create a space that feels both refined and functional.
Priced at $28,990 plus on-road costs, the All-New Fronx Hybrid will be offered exclusively in a top-grade automatic variant.
Premium single-tone paint is an additional $745, with two-tone options costing an additional $1,345.
Fronx is expected to arrive in September.
