7) Little Nightmares
Speaking of a walk on the weird side, Little Nightmares is even more peculiar. The game sees you controlling a tiny yellow raincoat wearing kid called ‘Six’ who is fleeing hordes of giant flesh-eating people. The hapless Six has no access to weapons and is almost always outnumbered and fleeing as fast as her little legs can carry her. The result can be truly terrifying. Little Nightmares is a game that keeps you on your toes and is deliciously unsettling, but somehow Six manages to survive. The levels, set aboard a giant floating island, are also grim and yet very inventive. Developer, Tarsier Studios, has managed to bring to life a game that has strong artistic merit. The ending is also a head spinner.
