The Alfa Romeo 4C offers Ferrari looks and levels of performance for what is surely a budget supercar price.
Launched in 2015 and the winner of numerous awards, 4C has to be the most stylish thing to come out of Italy in recent times.
Sadly, however, the model comes to an end with the launch of the Alfa Romeo 4C 33 Stradale Tributo — 15 examples of which will be delivered next month to lucky customers here in Australia.
Individually numbered, 10 Coupes and five Spiders will find a home down under, priced from $123,000 and $133,000 respectively — all destined to become instant classics.
First launched in Australia in February 2015, the Alfa Romeo 4C took the local performance market by storm, offering supercar speed, stunning looks and F1-inspired technology.
Today, the Alfa Romeo 4C 33 Stradale Tributo pays homage to the 4C’s racing roots, remaining the epitome of Italian style, celebrated by an iconic sporty interior and exterior design.
A true driver’s car, the handcrafted, dual-mode, lightweight titanium Akrapovic exhaust system assists performance, producing full voice in Dynamic or Race mode.
The exterior is finished in a striking Special Ville d’Este red, paired with gold wheels.
Carbon fibre accents feature throughout the front fascia vents and the mirror covers, decorated with the colours of the Italian flag.
Carbon fibre also features on the roof of the Coupe, while the Spider houses a carbon fibre roll bar.
Both the 4C 33 Stradale Tributo Coupe and Spider also feature a piano black front air intake and rear diffuser, and dedicated ‘Centro Stile Alfa Romeo’ exterior badge.
In the interior, the vibrant red carbon fibre tub is proudly prominent, pairing perfectly with the rest of the track-ready cabin.
Competition two-tone seats, a leather stitched upper dashboard and the ‘33 Stradale Tributo’ dashboard insert combine to create a refined and premium cockpit, all further elevated with a uniquely numbered centre console badge – a lucrative adornment for Alfa Romeo collectors.
The inspiration for this car is the 1967 33 Stradale, an iconic Alfa Romeo that made its debut at the Monza circuit on August 31, 1967 — on the eve of the 1967 Formula One Italian Grand Prix.
Italian for “road-going,” and boasting a top speed of 260km/h, the 33 Stradale was a hand-built Franco Scaglione-penned mid-engine exotic based on the Tipo 33 race car that won its class at the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona.
To this day it represents a singular blend of leading-edge technology, racing mechanics and inspirational design — a fitting forebear to the 4C Spider.
Only 18 chassis were ever produced, with most completed cars painted in Alfa’s signature red, with gray-gold wheels and black-and-tobacco interior.
