AHOY, ye water-loving car enthusiasts! Lamborghini, long known for its tractors and in more recent times, hi-spec sports cars, has teamed up with the Italian Sea Group to launch a yacht.
Not just another yacht, but a super yacht — one inspired by its supercars.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2021.
The new vessel goes by the catchy name of Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, the ’63’ bit is a reference to the carmaker’s 1963 founding date, and it borrows styling elements from several of its fine cars.
The project started with several collaborative sessions with the contribution of Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and inspiration from the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 .
It’s the hybrid super sports car that incorporates a benchmark new super capacitor and materials science technologies, that, the company says “anticipates the future with an unmistakable design and completely customisable colour and details.”
The Y-shaped bow lights reference the Terzo Millenio concept and Sian, while the instrument panel was designed to replicate the feel of a car’s cockpit, Lamborghini says.
The yacht can also be customised through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program.
The Lambo people say a variety of exterior colour and livery options would be available, although only two options will be offered for the interior.

Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stefano Domenicali, said the yacht represented the significance of creating a valuable partnership.
“Our co-operation allows the essence of both organisations’ style and expertise to be transferred to different worlds, sharing in their diversity to interpret and add value to the final product in a new environment,” he said.
“If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision.
“I’m delighted to celebrate this successful collaboration.”
The yacht is powered by a pair of MAN V-12-1900 engines, the most powerful high-speed four-stroke MAN diesels to date.
Each 12-cylinder engine provides 1397 kW (1900 hp) and was specifically designed for use in luxury yachts of over 30 metres.
The two engines combine to develop all of 2794kW and give the yacht a top speed of 60 knots (111km/h).
Thanks to carbon fibre construction, the 19 metre yacht weighs in at around 24 tons, which is said to be fairly light for a boat of its size.
Lamborghini isn’t the first carmaker to collaborate with a boat builder.
Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing have worked together since 2007 on a series of special-edition boats inspired by the German firm’s performance cars.
Lexus unveiled a branded yacht last year, and Aston Martin has even designed its own submarine.
Back on land, the next Lamborghini production car will be an extreme, track-only version of Aventador — dubbed the SCV12.
Boasting more than 619kW (830 hp), it could possibly be the last V-12 Lamborghini without turbocharging or electrification.
Lamborghini has already confirmed the Aventador replacement, due around 2022, will be a plug-in hybrid.
It will cost 3 million Euros, or some $4.85 million Australian, and is limited to just 63 examples.
